BMW will gradually resume production at its Munich and Dingolfing plants next week, a company spokesperson reported.

The company had suspended production at these plants earlier in the week over supply chain issues caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

BMW will suspend production of the BMW Mini in Oxford for two weeks, the spokesperson said.

Other plants in Germany and the rest of Europe continued operations as normal. However, the automaker forecasts further interruptions because of the Ukraine crisis and ongoing chip shortages.

European carmakers including Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi, also dealing with shortages of crucial wire harnesses as the Ukrainian conflict shuttered wire harness manufacturers.
