Tesla is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles, including the seventh recall of its 2024-model Cybertruck, due to a tire-pressure monitor malfunction.
The recall also affects the 2017 to 2025 Model 3 and the 2020 to 2025 Model Y.
The vehicles’ tire-pressure warning light may not illuminate between driving cycles, potentially failing to notify drivers of low tire pressure, according to a notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
The Texas-based electric-vehicle market leader issued an over-the-air software update to remedy the issue, the notice says. It’s scheduled to mail recall notices to owners on Feb. 15.
The flaw was introduced with a noncompliant software release and could ultimately lead to a crash due to a deflated tire, recall documents indicate.
