RINGWOOD, N.J. — Technology-focused F&I product provider and administrator Dealer Owned Warranty Company recently welcomed Kas Nelson as director of sales. Executives said the seasoned professional embodies the company’s spirit of innovation, service, compliance, and continuous improvement.

“DOWC is looking forward to Kas’ contributions, the certain success of which is already evidenced by an increase in our dealer and agent base,” said Michael LaMotta, the company’s founder and general manager.

Nelson’s 35 years of industry experience began with selling BMWs in Texas. He was recruited by Pat Ryan & Associates in the early 1980s and by 1987 was promoted to regional vice president. In 1993, Nelson joined Concord Insurance Group as an executive vice president. Ten years later, when Aon purchased First Extended, Nelson returned as vice president of the agent marketing channel for Resource Automotive Group.

Nelson cited the uniqueness of DOWC’s program, cutting-edge technology, and focus on compliance as having attracted him to the company that represents “the evolution of the F&I industry.” After working with DOWC as a partner, Nelson said he realized the overwhelming need for flexibility, customization, and technology as the F&I industry evolves.

“Through my work with their team, I realized DOWC’s commitment to operational competence, execution, flexibility, and deliverable results,” Nelson said. “Ultimately, the move to DOWC was the result of a desire to be on the team that has emerged as the best in the industry.”
